During a Tuesday appearance on Rightside Broadcasting Network, U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) discussed the Democratic Party’s far-leftward swing and concerns from some of its more moderate members regarding their legislative futures.

Palmer argued that establishment Democrats currently have no strategy to address recent socialist victories, particularly in places like New York.

"They don't know what to do. I think I talked with some others and was listening in on some of the conversations, and they're genuinely concerned," said Palmer. "I think they're concerned on two levels: one, they're concerned about the rhetoric and the positions that these people have, but they're also concerned on a personal level that they're going to get beat there."

"There's a Democrat locker by me, and he was talking about he's got one of these communists running against him in Massachusetts, and I think that they're really at a loss for what to do, and eventually they're going to have to decide," he continued.

Palmer believes the fate of some moderate Democrats may already be sealed.

"You know there's only one or two Democrats that I think could legitimately switch parties. But I think it's too late. I think they're going to lose," he added.
