An Atmore man was arrested this week on animal cruelty charges after allegedly killing a dog by putting it in his oven.
Per a report by KWQC, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a residence after receiving a call about an injured animal on Monday.
The deputies arrived at the residence to find a chihuahua puppy in the driveway with severe burn injuries, according to the outlet.
James Williamson was reportedly arrested after investigators found the Atmore resident had put the dog in his oven due to its excessive barking, turned the oven on and placed a chair in front of it so it couldn’t be opened.
