Attorney General Steve Marshall claims Legend Windows, LLC, out of Shelby County, has been scamming people for years.

The AG’s office secured a restraining order against the company and three individuals, Jody Ray Whitworth, Bobby Ray Whitworth, and Robin Simmons Willard.

Marshall said the company was taking down payments on new windows and not delivering the product. At least 40 victims have been identified but Marshall believes there are more.

“Legend Windows and the Whitworths have run this scam for far too long, preying on their customer base, and it’s time that they are held accountable for their crimes,” said Marshall. “The Defendants have a track record of property theft and have shown no remorse for their fraudulent actions by perpetuating their transgressions over and over.”

Damages total $181,042.80.

“Between September 2022 and March 2024, the Legend Windows bank account was used to make over 1100 purchases from Amazon totaling over nearly $50,000,” the AG’s office stated. “Additionally, during that same time period, the business made over $20,000 in purchases from numerous retailers, including Temu, Etsy, JC Penney, TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, Scentsy, Plato’s Closet, Nordstrom, Kohl’s, and Burlington.”

The restraining order includes an asset freeze and will stop the company from operating. There will be a hearing for a preliminary injunction on July 8.

Marshall said he wants the company closed and victims compensated.

Legend Windows LLC and affiliates have not been found guilty of a crime.
