College baseball's regular season has come to an end, and the SEC Baseball Tournament's host state boasts two of the hotter teams entering postseason play at the Hoover Met.

Auburn, which was picked to finish last in the SEC prior to the season, has won eight straight games and is the fifth seed for the tournament. The Tigers will play Missouri, who they just swept over the weekend, in a single-elimination first-round game at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will air on SEC Network.

Alabama, winners of five straight to close the season, has gone 8-2 since firing head coach Brad Bohannon on May 4 and earned its highest seed in the SEC tournament in seven years as the ninth-seeded team. The Crimson Tide square off with eight-seed Kentucky in a single-elimination first-round game on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on SEC Network.

The SEC Tournament opens Tuesday in Hoover with 11-seed Georgia playing six-seed South Carolina at 9:30 a.m. Games will be played all week, with the championship game set to be played Sunday at 2 p.m.

Ranked 19th in the latest D1 Baseball rankings, Auburn is currently projected to be a one-seed in next month's NCAA Tournament. Alabama is now ranked 24th and is also projected as a one-seed.
