AUBURN — The Auburn Board of Trustees approved the Jordan-Hare North Project on Friday in a meeting held at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center.
Construction on the project will begin in the summer of 2026, with full completion set for the spring of 2029, and is a joint project between the Auburn Athletics department and Student Affairs.
The facility will serve both the student experience and football game days.
In addition to 3,000 new premium seating and club experiences, Auburn will inherit a new campus dining option - Shug's Food Hall - which will also serve as a concession hub for ticket holders on game day. Additionally, the project will also feature conference rooms, event spaces, retail venues, student activity spaces and meeting rooms.
"The Jordan-Hare North Project will benefit Auburn for generations, elevating the experience for all fans on football Saturdays while also enhancing the campus community year-round," Auburn athletics director John Cohen said. "We are extraordinarily grateful to the Board of Trustees for their final approval, and to President Roberts, Dr. Bobby Woodard and Auburn University for their partnership. We encourage Auburn people to enthusiastically support the 'Ever Auburn' campaign."
The project will deliver stadium-wide improvements, including five new entry gates, 66 new concession points of sale, 13 elevators and 270 restroom fixtures with on-site premium kitchens and concessions.
A seven-story project, the sixth floor will create a fully connected concourse between the east and west upper decks. The level will include expanded food and beverage service, additional restrooms, enhanced standing-room areas and improved vertical access. It will also serve as a dedicated home for Auburn's Eagle Flight.
"This project represents a thoughtful investment in how Auburn brings people together, not only on gameday, but throughout the life of the university," said Dr. Christopher B. Roberts, president of Auburn University. "As a land-grant institution, we are called to create spaces that support learning, strengthen relationships and serve the broader community. The North End Zone addition and North Plaza will provide a central, welcoming place where students, faculty, alumni and visitors can gather for meaningful experiences that reflect the spirit of Auburn. These spaces will support everything from daily student engagement to major university milestones, all while enhancing connectivity across campus. We are building with purpose, ensuring that what we create today will continue to serve the Auburn Family well into the future."
The project will add 3,000 seats to the already-established 88,000 in Jordan-Hare Stadium, including loge seating, patio suites and terrace seating. It will feature more than 50 suites across three levels and introduce four new reserved seat club experiences to include the Tigers' Terrace - 1892 Club, 1892 Legacy Club, and Heisman Founder's Club. Two new access-pass club experiences will be introduced – the Kick Six Field Club and Pat's Place.
Phase I of the project was completed prior to the 2025 season with the completion of the north endzone videoboard installation. In September 2024, the Board of Trustees awarded initial approval of the Jordan-Hare Stadium north end zone multi-use facility project, and in February 2025, they gave approval for the architect and construction manager. HOK Architects of Kansas City, Missouri, was selected as the architect and Robins & Morton of Birmingham, Alabama, as construction manager. CDFL Architects + Engineers and Workshop Architects are serving as associate architects.
The project also marks the launch of a new fundraising campaign, "Ever Auburn," which began after initial board approval in 2024.
"This is an unbelievable day for the Auburn Family," said Auburn football head coach Alex Golesh. "I want to thank the Board of Trustees, President Roberts and John Cohen for their leadership and vision in making this happen. The Jordan-Hare North Project will be an elite space that serves the entire Auburn community 365 days a year. Jordan-Hare is the best gameday environment in the country, and this project is going to take that experience to a completely different level. It's a great time to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle!"
