AUBURN – After just one season with the program, Auburn defensive coordinator Ron Roberts is stepping away to accept a similar position with the Florida Gators.
This will be the fifth straight season where Auburn has replaced both of its coordinators.
Auburn hired former Colorado defensive coordinator and Auburn alum Charles Kelly on December 30. His role has yet to be announced.
This will be the second time Roberts has been an assistant under Billy Napier.
Roberts' departure is surprising after Auburn's defensive unit had a strong season in 2023.
The hope for Freeze's next set of coordinators is that they will fill their posts for more than one season.
