The Auburn Tigers have earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers will play their first round game in Lexington, Ky., in the South region against one of Alabama State or St. Frances on Thursday.

Auburn has lost three of its last four games dating back to when it won the SEC regular season championship outright, but 16 Quad I wins and the impressive resume it built up leading into conference play ultimately secured the No. 1 spot in the tournament for the Tigers.

Auburn finished the season with a 27-4 overall record and a 15-3 record in-conference play.

The Tigers once were a No. 1 seed in 1999, but this marks the first time in program history that Auburn will hold the No. 1 overall spot. If Auburn is to make it out of the first two rounds in Lexington, it will play in the Sweet 16 – and if it makes it – the Elite 8 in Atlanta.

Time to dance.
