Major League Fishing (MLF) announced the return of a championship event to Alabama.
The REDCREST 2027 will be held on Logan Martin Lake, April 16-18, 2027. The Outdoor Sports Expo and postgame festivities in Birmingham will follow.
The event is one of several tournaments in the 2027 Bass Pro Tour.
"REDCREST belongs on fisheries and in communities that can handle the biggest stage in professional bass fishing, and Birmingham and Logan Martin Lake check every box," said Boyd Duckett, MLF president and CEO. "The Coosa River is one of the great tournament systems in the country, and Logan Martin will challenge our anglers in all the right ways. When you combine that fishery with Birmingham's proven support for major events, REDCREST 2027 has the makings of a tremendous championship."
According to the MLF, Logan Martin Lake hasn't hosted a top-level national tour event since 2006, when it hosted the Forrest Wood Cup. The lake was used for three Bassmaster Classics in 1992, 1993 and 1997.
Alabama anglers expect the lake to impress the best in the fishing world.
"It's going to be an incredible event with a ton of fish catches, and we're going to catch them from one end of the lake to the other," Jacob Walker said. "It's going to be a really fun tournament to watch."
Dustin Connell, who has won all three previous REDCREST editions held in the state, called Alabama "the home of bass fishing" and said he is excited to see the local stop.
"The tradition is here," Connell said. "When you go to a gas station on a Saturday morning, that's all you see is bass boats. On every exit, all the way from Huntsville all the way down to Mobile. Every Saturday, that's one thing that I've always noticed, at least around here, every gas station is loaded with bass boats, and that's what we're kind of known for."
Fish will be tracked in real time via the Scoretracker Leaderboard and released immediately. The event will be streamed live on MLFNOW! via MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) app and Rumble.
