The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred after a dispute between cousins.
Deputies were called to a home on Mannich Lane in unincorporated Baldwin County on Monday evening. They located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, later identified as 55-year-old Robert Keith Barlow, was taken to Baldwin Health Medical Facility in Foley, where he died.
Barlow’s cousin, 42-year-old Joseph Lee Smith, was arrested and charged with murder. Detectives determined that during an argument, Smith took out a shotgun and shot Barlow.
Smith was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
