Republicans in Baldwin County are voicing concerns over possible progressive plants in some municipal elections.
Baldwin County Republican Party chairman Kathy Morelock said, although municipal elections are non-partisan, she wants conservatives to know that Democratic organizations are donating to candidates who represent Democratic values.
Terri Osborne, a candidate for Daphne City Council, has campaigned on protecting waterways, but Morelock said she noticed a red flag when searching through donations to Osborne's campaign.
"It made me realize that if the Democrats want this particular person in this seat, then that's something we need to be paying attention to," Morelock said to the Eastern Shore Republican Women at a luncheon. "That's probably a person that conservatives might not want to have in that seat."
According to the Alabama Secretary of State's Office, Osborne has raised $2,620. The campaign received donations from the Baldwin County Democratic Party and the South Baldwin Democrats totaling $2,500.
The Baldwin County Democratic Party is also supporting Bay Minette mayoral candidate Joshua O. Brown, Bay Minette city council candidate Tyrone Thompson and Daphne city council candidate Steve McArthur.
Morelock said voters should familiarize themselves with all candidates.
"We need the voters to come out and first of all, know their candidates, know what they stand for, and we need to show up and vote," Morelock said. "If the Republicans will just show up and vote in our municipal elections, we can nip this in the bud."
