A Baldwin County Solid Waste trash bin made its way to England, and now an effort is underway to pinpoint its origin.
Photos of the bin with barnacles attached to it were posted on the Dorset Facebook page. Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset, southern England.
“Found this morning in Weymouth washed up on a beach,” Ryan Stalker posted. “A large bin that has travelled all the way across the Atlantic from Alabama.”
The bin has partial numbers on it, and Baldwin County Solid Waste is working to identify exactly where the bin came from. They told 1819 News they suspect it was blown into the Gulf during Hurricane Sally and made its way across the pond over the past five years.

“It's amazing the huge distances some of this waste is travelling,” Stalker added.
So far, Stalker said they have identified three possible starting locations in Fort Morgan.
