Last week's 17-point comeback victory over Oklahoma by Alabama in the College Football Playoff (CFP) marked the most-watched first-round matchup in the two years of the expanded 12-team field.

According to ESPN and Nielsen, the Crimson Tide's 34-24 historic win over the Sooners in Norman, Okla., last Friday averaged 14.9 million viewers, making it the fifth-most-watched game of the season. Six of the top 20 most-viewed games this year involve Alabama.

The next-highest-rated first-round matchup was Miami's 10-7 win over Texas A&M, which averaged 14.8 million viewers. Ole Miss’ blowout win over Tulane averaged 6.2 million viewers, and Oregon’s big win over James Madison averaged 4.4 million viewers.

No. 9 seed Alabama will square off with No. 1 seed Indiana in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day at 3 p.m. on ESPN.
