U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) accused the Democratic Party of abandoning its traditional voter base in favor of illegal aliens to maintain political power during a discussion on Breitbart News on Saturday.
According to Moore, legislation currently before the U.S. Senate, the SAVE America Act, could have a profound effect on the ongoing courtship between liberals and non-citizen voters.
"If you look at the polling on the [SAVE America Act], it's obvious that the vast majority of Americans want an ID and citizen voting in these elections," Moore said. "There'll be pressure applied from a lot of different directions, and I'm for blowing through the filibuster, doing what we have to do, because this is probably one of the most important pieces of legislation that we've seen come across in a long, long time."
The lawmaker argued that Democrats are fighting against voter ID laws because they would limit the party's ability to "cheat" in elections.
"I think it started when Obama brought all those people into Minneapolis from Somalia," Moore contended. "Over time, the Democratic Party has literally replaced its own voting base with illegals, people who are not citizens and people who are in these sanctuary areas. The only play Democrats have is to go hard left and then allow people who are not citizens to vote, because American citizens don't want what they're trying to shove down our throats. These are 80-20 issues, like men in women's sports, all this stuff. They are so tone deaf."
He added, "I think their voters are waking up to the fact that they are being replaced by their own leadership, just because the leadership wants to maintain power, not because they're really there to serve the people who call themselves Democrats."
