U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) hopes to join President Donald Trump in ushering in a new “golden age” for America by supporting him as Alabama’s next U.S. Senator.
Barry Moore and his wife, Heather, sat down with “1819 News: The Podcast” host Bryan Dawson at a recent Point Clear Republican Women's town hall. They spoke about how the Yellowhammer State could play a key role in Trump’s vision if Moore were to win the 2026 Senate race.
“Trump talks about the golden age of America. And y'all, as I said earlier, we are seeing a historic change in your lifetime,” Barry Moore said. “You're witnessing the retaking of your own government for the people first… If we get the right governor — which we're going to, a great fighter, a true conservative, very competitive, but still second on the list as most conservative — and a couple of senators and some house members that are willing to work with the governor, y'all, we can bring Alabama, it can be a cutting-edge state in this country.”
Barry Moore also emphasized the importance of the midterm elections and how Trump will need all the help he can get in his final two years in office.
“If I win the Senate seat in ‘26, we got 24 months. We better have some people in there that we know have had his back — which I have since day one, 10 years ago — that 100% of his agenda we've pushed through Congress… We got to move, and we've got to move fast, and then we need somebody to come in behind him. So there is a lot at stake right now, but I think we are truly witnessing history.”
Heather Moore agreed, saying there wasn’t any time to lose training a newcomer on the ways of the Senate.
“We are going to have two years to get Trump's agenda codified into law. It is nothing against anyone, but we cannot afford to be training a U.S. Senator to be a U.S. Senator. We have got to have somebody in there who already has relationships in the U.S. Senate, who already has relationships with Congress, who is going to have 13 years of legislative experience in a legislative body, who knows how to get bills written into law, who knows how to go and lobby your fellow congressmen, lobby your fellow senators and get things done. We do not have enough time to be training someone who has never served in a legislative body to go in and be a legislator. And that's why I think that Barry Moore is the right candidate for the U.S. Senate. He has the experience. He has the relationship with the White House. He has a relationship with our current senior senator [Katie Britt], who will be our senior senator. He has relationships in the Alabama legislature. He's going to have a great relationship with Alabama's governor. We are going to have two years to get a whole lot done, and I think Barry's the right man for the job.”
