Thursday on Mobile radio's FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show," U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) urged voters to let their voice be heard in primary elections scheduled across the country.

"It is so vitally important in the primaries that we have people that we elected who represent our values in these elections," Moore, a candidate for U.S. Senate, emphasized. "And so if you're a husband, get your wife to vote. You can't tell her how to vote, but at least get her to the polls and try to get her to show up, and families and friends need to show up also."

The legislator noted the "slim majority" Republicans currently have in the House, while also praising grassroots efforts to keep the chamber under Republican control.

"We're polling well. Republicans are showing great leadership, even with a two-vote majority. We want to make sure that we have a say in who leads this nation forward," Moore continued. "You have a say at the ballot boxes where you have that process. We want to make sure that we get our people out, and they show up and vote, and their voice is heard. We're going to continue to do what we can to protect election integrity, but you can't complain if you don't show up and vote. You have to be one of those people who engage in the process. I'm so grateful for the grassroots organizations that get out, knock on doors, and encourage people to get plugged in."

He added, "Not everybody's political, but this is very important, and so I encourage folks to vote. Tell your friends and family to go vote. You have a choice in the process. Be heard."
