U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) discussed his ongoing campaign to become Alabama's next U.S. Senator this week on WVNN's "The Yaffee Program."

The congressman spoke about voter enthusiasm in North Alabama, while noting his conservative voting record and legislative experience in Washington, D.C.

"We did our events in North Alabama, all those yard signs, left our events, and so people are excited to hear about us," Moore said.

"They know [us] in South Alabama, our scores, being a true conservative, being early with President Trump and already having legislative experience. I'm [the] only one in the race that has actually been in the legislative branch of government. I have moved bills to law from the House when I was in the state legislature to now in the U.S. House of Representatives."

"People in North Alabama are learning about us. They're learning he's a Trump guy, he's an ally, he's got relationships, he's got a record we can bet on, and he's got the experience," Moore continued. "We're excited about it. And when they hear that, they get excited."

Moore pointed to the high rating scores he has received from influential conservative organizations recently.

"For us, it's a matter of just running on our record. I don't tell everybody what I want to do. I say, look at our record since 2020," Moore told Yaffee. "My Liberty Score is a 96. Heritage Foundations got me at 98. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has me at 100. American Servicemen's Union at 95, and Gun Owners of America at 98. That's the highest average of anybody in the Alabama delegation."

"We're going to run on our record, run on the fact that we have relations with the White House, with friends in the Senate and certainly in the US House of Representatives," added Moore.

Voters across the state have been open to Moore's message and campaign.

"So we're looking forward to the next few months," he said. "I think it's about a couple of hundred days away. What we're hearing, what we're seeing is that, unlike most races I've run, I've usually had to go on enemy territory many times to be in the U.S. House. But I tell you, as I travel the state, I don't feel that's the case in Alabama right now."

"It seems like people are receptive, and they're excited about our campaign," Moore concluded.

Moore will be taking on Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson in the 2026 U.S. Senate Republican primary.

The primary election will be held on May 19, 2026, and the general election will be held on November 3, 2026.
