FOLEY — The SpaceX Dragon crew capsule splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday evening around 10:07 p.m.
The capsule was captured on camera by several residents of Baldwin County. Many throughout South Alabama, including Baldwin County, felt and heard a loud sonic boom when it entered the atmosphere.
There were four astronauts on Board Dragon Freedom who went on a mission to the International Space Station. Peggy Whitson was the commander on board, along with John Shoffner, Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi.

SpaceX has not provided the exact location where the capsule landed or the condition of the crew.
