A 21-year-old in Birmingham was jailed on a capital murder charge in an October 18 homicide, Birmingham Police said Thursday.
Markell Tolbert is currently in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
Tolbert is suspected in the death of Monderrius McClellan, 33, of Birmingham. McClellan was shot and killed in the 1400 block of Mayfield Avenue Southwest.
BPD’s Crime Reduction Team arrested the suspect on Tuesday.
Tolbert is considered innocent until proven guilty.
