Former Alabama guard John Petty, Jr. and former Vestavia Hills High and UAB forward Jordan Swing are part of the 15-man training camp roster for the Birmingham Squadron of the G League.

Petty, who is from Huntsville, played in 31 games with the Squadron last season while Swing joined the team for the final seven games. The lone returning players are Petty, Swing, guard Riley LaChance (Vanderbilt) and forward Zylan Cheatham (Arizona State).

Guard Dereon Seabron (N.C. State) and forward E.J. Liddell (Ohio State) are under a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA.

Other players in training camp for the Squadron are guards Javonte Smart (LSU), Troy Green (New Orleans), Trey McGowens (Nebraska), M.J. Randolph (Florida A&M) and Kelan Martin (Butler); and forwards James Kelly (Marshall) and Daeqwon Plowden (Bowling Green) and post players Sterling Manley (North Carolina) and Terrell Brown (San Diego).

The regular season opener comes on November 6 inside Legacy Arena at the BJCC against the Lakeland Magic.
