Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey announced on Tuesday that she has loaned her 2026 attorney general campaign $500,000.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, a candidate for U.S. Senate, is term-limited from seeking re-election to his current role. Casey, Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson are all vying to be the Republican nominee for attorney general in 2026.
“I am deeply grateful for the encouragement I’ve received from Alabamians who want an Attorney General with proven courtroom experience,” Casey said. “This campaign is about protecting families, standing with law enforcement, and bringing real results—not political games. The Alabama Attorney General race should be about experience not money.”
Casey’s campaign said she has spent her career as a prosecutor, trying cases, protecting victims, and standing up against violent crime. She said that her record distinguishes her as the most experienced candidate in the race.
With significant resources, broad grassroots support, and the only prosecutorial background in the race, Casey said she is ready to take her message to voters in every corner of the state.
“This office is not an entry-level job,” Casey said. “I am the only candidate who has spent years in the courtroom prosecuting cases and making tough decisions to keep our communities safe.”
Casey also called on her opponents to “rise above negativity.”
“Voters deserve to hear about qualifications and ideas—not attacks. I’m going to keep focusing on my experience, my record, and my vision for keeping our kids, families, and homes safe across Alabama. That’s what the voters deserve," she stated.
