The mother of a child investigators believe died in an accidental shooting is now facing multiple charges.
Evelyn Etress, 40, of Hayden, is charged with aggravated child abuse, manslaughter, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The shooting occurred on Thursday morning. A two-year-old boy was shot in the head and transported to Children's of Alabama, where he died.
Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon said several firearms, including a .380, believed to be the gun fired, were found on the scene. Court documents state that marijuana and mushrooms were also found in the home.

Moon said the mother spoke with deputies, and they placed her in the Blount County Jail on an investigative hold until the charges were filed.
The Department of Human Resources (DHR) took custody of the remaining children in the home.
According to jail records, Etress was released from jail on Friday.
The case will go to the grand jury in April.
Etress is considered innocent until proven guilty.
