The Blount County Sheriff's Office will be featured on three upcoming episodes of "Takedown with Chris Hansen." The show is similar to NBC's "To Catch a Predator" but is on the TruBlu network.

Sheriff Mark Moon said the show contacted him to participate, and he didn't hesitate. He added there is a nationwide issue with predators targeting children, and Blount County is not immune to that problem.

"I wanted to be proactive in going after these predators that seek after children," Moon said.

A team from the Genesee County, Mich. sheriff's office came to Alabama to train deputies on how to handle child predator stings. Moon said deputies will also travel to Michigan to learn more about the stings so they can continue to hold the operations in the future and be proactive in fighting crimes against children.

"You're not going to get away with that here," Moon said. "We are going to not be reactive anymore. We are coming after you. Don't get caught in Blount County trying to hook up with a child for your evil desires because I don't know about you guys, but for me, that is the worst crime that's out there. People that victimize our children and things like this, I don't stand for it."

TruBlu is a subscription-based service. The sheriff's office will give a free code to a number of people who interact on a social media post on Tuesday afternoon.
