A Wilmer woman was killed in a Sunday boat crash, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed.
The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. in the area of Bayou Sara, near Saraland.
Investigators said two boats collided, sending Brittany Sherman overboard. The 27-year-old's body was found Monday around 10:50 a.m.
Cody Sherman, 30, was also injured and taken to USA Health University Hospital for treatment. The Sherman's four-year-old child was also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The operators of the vessels were not injured.
The Shermans have four homeschooled children. The South Alabama Homeschoolers group asked for continued prayers for the family.
Brittany Sherman is remembered as an active and beloved part of the homeschool community who had a servant's heart and loved the Lord.
A GoFundMe account for the family raised over $31,000 in 10 hours.
