Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said a boy reported missing on Wednesday was found dead two miles from his home on Friday.
Johnathan Everett Boley, 5, was last seen with his black lab, which Smith said was found alive and still with the child.
Walker County deputies have been searching the woods and ponds in the 7000 block of Highway 195 in Jasper, using all resources available.
The cause of death has not been determined.
