Voters in Spanish Fort sent a message from the ballot box Tuesday when they elected a new mayor.
Brad Bass, a health care marketing professional and volunteer coach, received 1,451 votes, incumbent mayor Mike McMillan received 572 votes and Lauren D. Cress received 30 votes. McMillan was first elected in 2012.
Bass pledged to focus on retail developments, athletic facilities and parks, public safety and transparency.
