Chipper Jones, legendary Atlanta Braves slugger and third baseman, has won a World Series. He was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He won National League MVP.

But he had never experienced an Auburn basketball game and never rolled Toomer’s Corner.

Friday night, Jones and his two children, who are Auburn students, checked off a couple of bucket list items.

Jones came to Auburn and watched Auburn play in the Sweet 16 along with an overflow crowd of Auburn supporters at 17-16, an Auburn sports bar and eatery. Auburn fell behind but came roaring back and won the game and a spot in the Elite Eight.

Jones, his two Auburn student-children, their friends and a couple thousand other Auburn fans then headed for – where else? – legendary Toomer’s Corner. They joined in rolling the trees, and anything else they could find, with toilet paper.

Then they all posed for a photo and posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Got 2 kids at Auburn," he wrote. "They’ve been wanting me to come down and visit, watch a game, hang out. Went to 1716, saw the Tigers make it to the Elite 8. Then we rolled Toomers Corner…..pretty cool!"

The Auburn experience is known to be addictive. Chances are, you will see Chipper Jones again.
