Brent Woodall recently endorsed Jim Zeigler in the Republican primary runoff for Public Service Commission, Place 2.

Woodall finished third in the Republican primary in May with 18% of the vote. Zeigler received 45%, and incumbent Chris Beeker III received 25%.

Zeigler and Beeker advanced to the runoff election on Tuesday since neither garnered 50% of the vote in the May primary.

Zeigler told 1819 News the Woodall endorsement was important because, "Our internal polling is showing it's going to be a close race so it's vital to win over the Brent Woodall supporters."

"We are facing a well-financed, negative campaign. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are being spent running negative ads against me. The Montgomery insiders were staggered that I finished 20 percentage points ahead of the incumbent. They don't want to see me as a people's watchman on the Public Service Commission," Zeigler said.
