A UPS driver was recognized by the Brewton City Council after delivering much more than packages before Christmas.
Mayor Frank Nalty and the Brewton City Council passed a proclamation honoring Titus Drakeford for assisting an elderly resident he found wandering outside in freezing temperatures. He transported the woman, who suffers from dementia, back to her home.
Nalty said Drakeford, who was already busy delivering packages for Christmas, prevented what could have been a very serious situation.
Drakeford attended the council meeting where he was presented with a framed copy of the proclamation.
