On Monday's episode of Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show," U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) discussed Sunday evening's UFC Freedom 250 at the White House. The legislator said that the event specifically "elevated" members of the U.S. military in attendance.

"Hats off to our men and women in uniform," Britt said. "You think about all the incredible things that our military has accomplished over the last several months with President Trump at the helm. They are clearly the most fierce fighting force in the world, and to be able to elevate them made the night even more special. And for those people who said, look, we shouldn't have these types of athletes or these types of games elevated, because every day Americans enjoy this, I think those people need a dose of reality. We live in the greatest country on the planet. We have these freedoms because of those men and women in uniform who are willing to sacrifice it all."

Britt praised President Donald Trump for his continued support of those who serve in the armed forces.

She added, "To see a president continue to elevate our troops, continue to appreciate our troops, making sure that our nation understands all that they do for us, I think is wonderful."
