Wednesday on Newsmax TV's "Wake Up America," U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said she could see a "renewed focus" in former President Donald Trump's eyes after his attempted assassination over the weekend.

While speaking from Milwaukee, Wis., the home of the 2024 Republican National Convention, Britt said it was evident from seeing Trump and staying at his friends and family box at the convention that the presumptive GOP presidential nominee "is ready to take the nation to the next level."

"The first night when he walked in and played 'God Bless America' and you saw him, you could see a renewed focus in Donald Trump's eyes," Britt stated. "And I feel like he is ready to take the nation to the next level."

"We were fortunate enough – Wesley and I were – we were so humbled to be asked to sit in the friends and family box there with President Trump, and you could feel the emotion both from him and from the family. I mean, we sit right behind his children. It was really tremendous. Just all that they had been through and what they want to do, moving forward, was very clear," she added.

Britt described the energy in Milwaukee as "electric" and added that "people are ready" and "excited" for the Trump-J.D. Vance ticket.
