An ongoing dispute between Fox and YouTube TV at the start of college football season is “unacceptable,” according to U.S. Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

YouTube TV emailed subscribers on Monday that Fox channels could be removed from YouTube TV as early as Wednesday if an agreement between the two companies isn’t reached. Auburn is set to kickoff its football season at Baylor on Fox at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Both senators urged the companies to come to an agreement.

Tuberville said, “College football is the heart and soul of America. Whether cheering for the Crimson Tide or Auburn Tigers, it brings our state together.”

“Make a deal, and let’s get on with the season!” he added.

Britt said, “It’s unacceptable that during SEC opening weekend, many fans wanting to cheer on Auburn against Baylor might not be able to watch.”

“I hope Google resolves this quickly to keep Fox channels on (YouTube TV),” she continued.

YouTube TV said in an email to subscribers on Monday, “Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date, and we are in active negotiations to continue carrying their content. Our priority is to reach a deal that’s fair for both sides, as well as our subscribers.”

‌“We want to be transparent about these discussions: if we are unable to reach an agreement with Fox by August 27, 2025, their content may become unavailable. If this happens, this will impact channels like the Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports, as well as any Library recordings you have from these channels,” YouTube TV added.
