Retirement Systems of Alabama CEO David Bronner still does not like President Donald Trump.

This was put on display on Tuesday at the Employees' Retirement System quarterly board meeting, according to a report from AL(dot)com's Mike Cason.

Bronner lamented what he perceived to be "uncertainty" in the economy resulting from Trump's tariff and immigration policies.

He took particular issue with Trump's illegal immigration policy, according to Cason's report:

“He’ll come up with a good idea, but he tends to overextend it hugely,” Bronner told the ERS Board.

Bronner said an example is Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

He said no one opposes the removal of immigrants who are here illegally and commit crimes and harm people.

“Now, do you do that same thing to the whole workforce?” Bronner said.

“These people who have been here 10 years, 15 years, never did a damn thing except feed their family and work and pay their taxes as legal as you could get, other than they came improperly 20, 30 years ago in some cases,” Bronner said.

Bronner's remarks come as his operation is completing construction on a much-anticipated replacement for the Alabama Statehouse.

However, one of the primary contractors under contract with RSA was the subject of an illegal immigration raid earlier this year.

In June, a worksite raid in Gulf Shores that resulted in 36 arrests raised questions about the new Gulf Shores High School contractor, Rabren General Contractors, which is also working on the statehouse project for RSA.

Bronner's latest overtures are nothing new, as he has consistently used his platform as the head of RSA to criticize the current administration and other state-level Republicans for the past several years.
