Former Auburn University men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl called on Vice President J.D. Vance to discontinue any association with Tucker Carlson for his continued criticism of the Israeli government and U.S. foreign policy regarding Israel.

Pearl told Jewish Insider's Emily Jacobs that support for Vance's potential 2028 presidential bid would be contingent on Vance's ties to Carlson.

"JD Vance is going to have to make a decision at some point about whether or not he's going to stay in that camp or not," Pearl said to Jacobs.

"If he doesn't stay there and he's the Republican candidate, I'll consider voting for him, but if he maintains that connection to that antisemite, I think that's going to be bad for antisemitism, because he will bring a lot of Tucker Carlsons with him," he added. "He'll uplift them. I hope he doesn't go that route."

Vance, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is among the favorites to represent the Republican Party on the 2028 presidential ballot.
