The CEO and founder of a Birmingham-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting U.S.-Israel collaborations responded to Israel’s strikes on Iran.
“Israel will bring a decisive end to Iran’s military objectives to destroy the nation of Israel,” said Heather Johnston, of the U.S. Israel Education Association. “The attack on Iran is precise and strategic and coordinated with the United States, although it is a unilateral Iran strike. Iran will no longer be allowed to dominate and stalk the region. They have already lost their proxies, and they will now lose their military edge in the region."
The association has provided information to U.S. lawmakers and leaders.
Auburn University basketball coach Bruce Pearl serves on the board of directors for the association. Upon learning of the historic strikes, Pearl, who served as the first president of the Jewish Coaches Association, stated, “Praying for our troops serving in the Middle East! God please protect our brave soldiers!”
Pearl said he is also praying for the 700,000 Americans living in Israel, including U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
Pearl has voiced concerns over the Democratic Party’s support of candidates who stand against Israel and the United States.
"How far has the Democratic Party gone in its hatred of Jews?" he asked Friday. "One of the party's most visible leaders, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, endorses a man who hates America and Israel..and he might win. We are better than this!"
Israeli strikes continued overnight Thursday and into Friday and are expected to continue for days as Israel targets nuclear facilities in Iran.
