Two years after an assassination attempt on President Donald Trump at a campaign event in Butler, Penn., conservative lawmakers across the country are praising the commander-in-chief's resolve in the face of danger and his ongoing commitment to the United States of America.

On Monday, Alabama's U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) took to X, marking the anniversary of the attempt on Trump's life.

"Two years ago, we witnessed the assassination attempt on President Trump’s life in Butler," wrote Tuberville. "Rather than running and hiding, President Trump fought back ten times harder against the COMMUNISTS trying to destroy our country. God bless Donald Trump, and God bless America.

Britt said Trump was spared death by the "grace of God" and grew stronger after the attempt on his life.

"Two years ago today, our nation witnessed a day that will forever be cemented in history when an assassination attempt was carried out against President Trump. By the grace of God, President Trump survived and emerged stronger than ever. His commitment to serving our country and making the lives of Americans more prosperous has never been more important."
