A group of state lawmakers recently went to Washington, D.C., to meet with White House officials.

According to House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville), the group discussed "key issues facing our state and how Alabama can continue to lead in implementing the president’s agenda."

On Monday, the White House unveiled a video featuring four Alabama lawmakers praising the recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on Alabama, including tax cuts, securing the border, education, and bringing manufacturing jobs back to the state, among other benefits.

State Rep. Rex Reynolds (R-Huntsville) says in the video, "The Big Beautiful Bill certainly will secure tax cuts for Alabamians, and we certainly support that. It will also work on our workforce retention and developing additional jobs in the future."

"I cannot thank President Trump enough for the impact this bill is going to make in the state of Alabama," State Rep. Susan DuBose (R-Hoover) says in the video. "We're going to have our taxpayers be able to keep more of their hard-earned dollar, thanks to President Trump."

Lebetter adds, "I certainly appreciate President Trump and what he's doing for Alabama in the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill. It helps our economy. Not only does it secure our borders, but it also helps to bring life into our education system."

State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur) goes on to say, "It's going to mean a lot to our state when it comes to the opportunity zones that are now going to be focused more for the rural areas, which is significant to a state like Alabama."

"Additionally, the tax cuts for senior citizens and their Social Security, overtime pay, other things that will certainly help our citizens, along with bringing the manufacturing jobs back home from offshore and improving our industrial base," he adds. "So, we're grateful for all that has happened and appreciate the passage of that fine legislation."

U.S. Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) responded to the message from Alabama's lawmakers and offered similar support.
