A year after Carnival Ecstasy pulled out of Mobile, a new option will be docking in the Port City.

Carnival Spirit will be in Mobile beginning October 6 and will offer new destinations for travelers through March 2024. Visit Mobile’s David Clark presented the 2023 Tourism Roadmap to the council Tuesday and said the organization had collaborated with Carnival Cruise Lines for months.

“Carnival Spirit will return on October 6 with the best ship and best itineraries that we have ever had,” said Clark.

The ship will return to Seattle during the summer months and offer trips to Alaska during that time.

Itineraries offer options of five-night to eight-night cruises to multiple destinations, including Belize, Cozumel, Bahamas, Jamaica and more. There will also be a 12-day Carnival Journeys Cruise that will depart from Mobile on January 18.

Carnival has already opened bookings for cruises, with initial pricing starting at $459 per person.

Depending on demand in Mobile, more cruises could be added in the future.

Carnival Spirit has a guest capacity of 2,124 with a crew of 930. The 963-foot ship offers a mini-golf course, a Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, pools and waterslides.
