He was also a father to two babies, a husband to a beautiful wife, and a follower of Jesus. And he was a hero to me and countless other young people.
My name is Caroline Joyous. I’m 19 and hail from northeast Alabama. I’m an Ambassador for Turning Point USA and have been involved with them since I was 14 years old. Through the organization, I got to know Charlie Kirk and speak with him and his wife upon several occasions.
When I was 16, I interviewed Charlie. He was an incredibly busy man and could’ve spent his time doing anything, yet he gave his time to me. Why? Because he sincerely cared. He cared about America. He cared about preserving biblical values. He, most certainly, cared deeply about people.
That last time I spoke with him was December, where he grinned and told me, “Keep fighting.”
That’s the very message that I want to echo to those reading this: “Keep fighting.”
Keep fighting for your faith.
Keep fighting for truth.
Keep fighting for life.
Keep fighting for freedom.
Do not become complacent because of your fear, become empowered because of your faith.
May we spend our lives for something worth dying for. May we press on, with hope, and keep fighting.
