Alabama has a monthly think tank. The conservative group holds a hybrid discussion session—in person or by Zoom—to discuss issues facing our state and nation.
Center/Right next meets Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom or at the law office of Bert Jordan—Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff in Birmingham.
The link to join the meeting by Zoom is here. Meeting ID to join is: 820 7468 5848
December’s featured guest is U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise). He will discuss the challenges we’ll face with the thin House Republican majority after the inauguration.
Moore has been an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump and a member of the House Freedom Caucus. In January, he will become the congressman for Alabama’s first district. His home in Coffee County was re-districted from the second district into the first, and he ran and won in the first district.
In addition to Moore, a fun guest and neighbor from Nashville, Tenn., U.S. and international political commentator Steve Gill, will review a few of the pending Trump cabinet appointees; Elon Musk; talk politics in general; and perhaps a little SEC college football forecasting. He was a White House fellow and U.S. trade representative under Bush and Clinton.
Also, long-time Republican activist Freddy Ard will give a “quick civics lesson.” What is the Alabama Court of Judiciary and its function?
Center/Right is moderated by former Alabama GOP chair Marty Connors.
