HOOVER — A crowd of around 50 friends, family and supporters gathered on Friday as U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) qualified for the U.S. Senate.
After Moore addressed the crowd briefly, noting that he was the first elected official to support President Donald Trump and highlighting all that Trump has done to keep his Make America Great Again promise.
"Just under a year ago, the President was sworn in for his second term. It was the height of a decade-long journey that President Trump began when he came down that golden escalator and promised to Make America Great Again, and on August 21, 2015, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, there were two people on this stage, my wife and myself ... we were there for President Trump's first event. And I was proud to join him on that journey as the first elected official in America to support Donald J. Trump to be our next president. January 20 of last year was the start of President Trump's second term. It's not the end of the journey to make America Great Again — it was the beginning."
"We've done so much already: we've shut down the illegal immigration pouring across our southern borders, restored America's strength abroad and have put a stop to the reckless lawfare of the Biden administration. We have so much more to do, but look at what the administration has already delivered," he added.
He also emphasized the importance of continuing to lower product costs in America and putting more money in people's pockets.
"Families here in Alabama are finally getting some relief. Taxes are going to be lower when you file on April 15, you'll see that," the congressman outlined. "Gas prices are coming down, we're already experiencing that. Grocery bills are coming down. That's real money back in the pockets of hardworking Alabamians, not government promises, but real results."
Moore said that it was important to continue to crack down on illegal immigration in the United States.
"Under President Trump, we have seen crime and overdose deaths fall, but too many of our neighbors are still suffering," he stated. "We have to keep fighting to enforce the law, because any death by drugs or by criminals is one too many. and yes, when crimes are committed by illegal immigrants, they must be deported, no matter what the radical left says."
Moore closed by highlighting his conservative voting record in Congress and saying that would help him get Trump's America First agenda "across the finish line" in his final two years in office.
"The President is going to need someone he can trust for this golden age," he declared. "We can't trust the Senate seat to anyone untested or unproven."
"I'm the only one in this race who actually has a voting record, and I encourage you to check the record. It's one of the most conservative in Congress," Moore added.
The Republican primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with the primary runoff election scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
