The Mobile County District Attorney’s office announced the conviction of a man for manslaughter in a 2022 shooting death.
Jason Chestang shot Christopher Brunson on April 15, 2022, after the two men got into an argument. Brunson was wounded in the chest and calf. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
“This case is a tragic reminder of how quickly violence escalates and how irreversible the consequences can be when a firearm is introduced into a conflict,” said District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “The jury carefully weighed the evidence and held the defendant accountable for taking a life. Our thoughts remain with Christopher Brunson’s family as they continue to live with this loss.”
Chestang will be sentenced on March 19.
