Montgomery Fire is investigating a fatal fire that claimed the life of a child on Sunday morning.
Crews responded to the Woodley Terrace Apartments just after 8 a.m., according to WSFA.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke and flames billowing out of the two-story building.
Inside the burning building, firefighters located three individuals: a man and two children. The injured individuals were pulled out of the apartment and transported to the hospital for treatment.
An 8-year-old boy did not survive. The man and the other child were listed in critical condition.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
