A video going viral on social media showed children attending a drag show in allegedly at a Mobile restaurant giving money to performers.
Libs of TikTok, a popular X account that often mocks radical liberal news and events, posted a video showing the "all ages family-friendly" drag show with young children present.
"A drag queen twerks and shakes his butt in a s*xual themed performance in front of children at an "all ages family-friendly" drag show," Libs of TikTok stated. "This wasn't in San Francisco. This was in Alabama."
At one point, a child gives a pantless man dressed in drag money for his performance.
Though the show's location was not mentioned in the post, 1819 News determined and later confirmed that it was hosted by Oyster City Brewing Company in Mobile.
An employee of the brewery told 1819 News they host the family-friendly drag brunches on one Sunday of each month, usually at the beginning of the month.
Another employee refused to answer questions and would not comment on the Libs of TikTok video.
Drag shows have been a controversial issue in Alabama since last year when the Alabama Legislature attempted to pass a law banning the "family-friendly" where minors are present. After running out of time to vote on the issue in 2023, House Majority Leader Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartsalle) pledged to get it passed in 2024.
