Friday, during his weekly appearance on Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show," State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Josephine) reacted to the Alabama Public Library Service's (APLS) decision to fire now-former agency director Nancy Pack a day earlier.
The Baldwin County Republican said while he was unaware of the specifics, Pack's termination reflected sentiments held by voters in Alabama.
"Look, I don't know the specifics of the firing at the state level. I've met with Director Pack before in my office and talked with her about issues before. And look, it's really simple. The people of the state of Alabama are tired of the wokeness. They have had enough. And if you are a woke bureaucrat embedded in state government, or county government, or local government, or the school board, the vast majority of the voters in this state are of a different ilk, and they are not standing for that woke ideology continuing to be pushed on children. And the voters will get you eventually."
