A Blount County teen is fighting for her life after a shooting late Friday night in Jefferson County.
Family and friends are asking for people to pray for Kimber Mills. Mills is reportedly hospitalized and in critical condition after being shot in the head.
According to dispatch records, Jefferson County sheriff deputies were called to Alabama State Highway 75 and Clay Palmerdale Road just before 11 p.m. They discovered three people had been shot and Mills had been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
ABC 33/40 reported the shooting occurred during a bonfire gathering and that the emergency response was prolonged due to the remote location.
Mills is a Cleveland High School cheerleader.
"We’re asking our community to come together in prayer for Kimber and her family," Cleveland Panther Football stated on Facebook.
The identity and condition of the other three victims has not been released.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
