On Friday, CNN and AL(dot)com broke the news that Mountain Brook native Admiral Brian Christine, the assistant secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was a pro-life urologist who was highly critical of the national response to COVID-19.

"A CNN review of archived podcast episodes, social media posts and radio appearances found that Christine repeatedly framed public health institutions, the federal government and pandemic-era policies as tools used to target conservatives and religious Americans," the CNN report said.

They also broke the news that "Christine has been a frequent critic of the Biden administration" and accused him of "endorsing 2020 election conspiracy theories," citing Christine's once-reposting a Charlie Kirk tweet as evidence.

"BREAKING: Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri will OBJECT to the election results on January 6th This is what courage looks like. This is what it means to FIGHT! RT if every other Republican needs to do the same!" the post read, according to CNN.

Christine responded to the attacks on X posting, "CNN is back to their old tricks: baselessly smearing people as 'far-right' conspiracy theorists to delegitimize their opponents. Thank God Donald Trump is our President and telling the truth is no longer a crime in America."

Both outlets also focused this week's stories on Christine's history as a urologist specializing in erectile dysfunction, as if it were a disqualification for the position; 1819 News found no record of either outlet questioning that Biden's appointee to the position, Dr. Rachel Levine, was unable to differentiate between men and women.

Levine focused his efforts on encouraging, promoting and normalizing gender dysphoria among youth across the nation and on fighting states like Alabama that passed laws to protect children from unnecessary and harmful medical treatment.
