Two individuals were arrested in Barbour County and accused of trying to introduce drugs and cell phones into Ventress Correctional facility after being apprehended by law enforcement.

Horace Henry Ellis, Jr. and  Zantoria Drinkard are both being charged with conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime, possession with intent to distribute, and promoting prison contraband in the first and second degree.

Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) personnel were alerted to a trespasser at Ventress in Clayton. ADOC K-9 was notified and responded to the area where Ellis was discovered with a black backpack.

Drinkard was arrested later after her vehicle was pulled over during a traffic stop. ADOC reportedly confiscated 194 grams of marijuana, 26 grams of cocaine and 13 cell phones.
