The Alabama Law Enforcement (ALEA) is investigating after a child was struck by a car and killed Monday afternoon.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene near the intersection of Woodmont Drive and County Farm Road, according to WHNT.
A 12-year-old girl was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office said the child had been dropped off by a school bus before she was hit by a car. The bus left before the incident. It is unclear if the driver of the car remained on the scene.
The roadway was closed while officials investigated.
