The Conecuh Sausage processing plant will no longer be in Conecuh County after it moves to Covington County this summer.

The company announced last year that it would move production to Andalusia, but the Interstate 65 gift store will remain open.

The Andalusia City Council has allocated land to the new, larger facility and contributed $80,000 toward the project. Federal grants have also helped with the move.

The facility is expected to create 50 jobs. The company plans to eventually open a second gift shop in Andalusia.
