Contracts for UAB football head coach Trent Dilfer, offensive coordinator Alex Mortensen and defensive coordinator Sione Ta’ufo’ou were approved on Monday during a University of Alabama Board of Trustees compensation committee video conference.
Dilfer’s contract runs from Dec. 2, 2022, to Jan. 31, 2028, with a base salary of $1.2 million. The contract also includes an annual radio and television talent fee of $50,000 and an annual promotion and fundraising fee of $50,000.
Mortensen comes to UAB as the offensive coordinator after spending eight seasons at Alabama. His two-year contract, which finishes on Jan. 31, 2025, calls for a $225,000 annual salary to begin. His salary increased to $325,000 on March 1.
Ta’ufo’ou received a two-year contract that will pay him $225,000 annually.
